Summary Authorities are considering shifting Dr Afridi from Peshawar central jail to Sindh or Punjab.
Dr Afridi who helped CIA in the Osama bin Laden raid, was sentenced to 33 years in prison on Wednesday.A special session of officials of jail and interior ministry has been convened on Monday to discuss the shifting of Dr Shakil Afridi to some other safe place.The meeting was scheduled after members of other banned outfits protested at the arrival of Doctor Afridi into Peshawar central jail. Meanwhile, the intelligence report has also stated that Doctor Afridi faces a grave threat to his life in Peshawar central prison.According to sources, no one is allowed to go near the cell of Shakil Afridi while only jail superintendent and IG jail are allowed to meet the doctor.It is likely that Dr Afridi will be shifted to some other jail of Sindh or Punjab after Monday’s meeting.
