Pak role significant for Afghanistan peace: NATO

Nato has stressed the role that Pakistan can play in restoring peace in Afghanistan.

In a statement released after a two-day North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) summit in Chicago, it was stated that Istanbul process will be forwarded for peace in South Asia.The statement said that Nato is working with Pakistan to reopen supply routes as soon as possible and that the country had an important role to play in Afghanistan’s stability and security.It maintained that Nato troops will be withdrawn from Afghanistan by the end of 2014 and the security will be completely handed over to Afghan forces.
