Summary LHC Justice Umer Ata Bandial heard the petition challenging the status of Gilani as PM.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer A.K. Dogar stated that Gilani can no more hold the office of prime minster after being convicted by Supreme Court and requested the court to bar him from carrying out official appointments.After hearing the arguments, Lahore High Court (LHC) justice Ume Ata Bandial called the matter very crucial and said that a laregr bench will hear the petition.The justice forwarded a request to the LHC Chief justice to form a larger bench to hear this particular petition.Earlier, LHC CJ Sheikh Azmat Saeed excused himself from hearing the same petition and referred the case to justice Umer Ata Bandial.
