Federal Cabinet has approved the new Textile Policy for the next five years. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that there was a need to increase the textile exports. The cabinet session also discussed the countrys economic, political and law and order situation. Addressing the session PM said that Pakistan was on fourth number in the world in cotton export while on number 15 in textile exports. He said that last year textile exports dropped to 0.9 percent to 0.5 percent, adding that it was an inappropriate situation. He said that exports would have to be increased.
