No judge will take oath in violation of the constitution and more struggle is needed for independent judiciary and Pakistan, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhay has said. He was addressing a ceremony organized by the District Bar in Islamabad. He said that lawyers movement still continued and the lawyers would have to play their role for the rule of law. He further said that it was the effort of independent judiciary that the national affairs were being dealt with in accordance with the law to a larger extent. He said that the governments were functioning properly by 2007 but as soon as General Musharrafs case of retaining two offices came to the court, PCO and Emergency were enforced. Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Begum Nasira Javed also addressed the ceremony.
