At least 34 people including 27 government officials were killed when a speedy coach skidded off the road and plunged into Indus River near Skardu; however the bus conductor managed to save his life. According to the police, the bus bearing the registration number PLN 7295 was on its way from Skardu to Rawalpindi when it veered off the road near Malopi Rindu area and fell into the river as its driver lost control over the steering. Locals and area police reached at the site soon after the accident and started relief activities.
