The full court meeting is in progress headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in Islamabad on Monday. During the meeting the CJP said no compromise will be made on the standard of verdicts on cases. The meeting is reviewing the judicial policy for 2009 and formation of committee to monitor anti terrorism courts. Fourteen judges are participating in the full court meeting including the CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry. Those who are attending the meeting includes, Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday, Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Raja Fiaz, Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmad, Justice Zahid Hussain, Justice Ghulam Rabbani, Justice Muhammad Saair Ali, Justice Mehmood Akhtar Shahid Siddiqui, Justice Jawad S. Khawaja and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali. Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani could not attend the meeting due to personal reasons, whereas, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice Javed Buttar are not present in the meeting as their cases are referred to supreme judicial council. In the inaugural address of the meeting, the CJP said implementation of Judicial Policy-2009 will be made despite shortage of resources. He said full attention will be paid to the disposal of cases so that peoples expectations could be met. Justice Iftikahr Muhammad Chaudhry said a good number of cases have been disposed of since March 24, 2009. The number of pending cases has decreased, he noted. He said it is the first full court meeting after the restoration of judiciary to the position of November 2, 2007. The number of judges in the Supreme Court has been reduced from 29 to 16 and the full court meeting would also make a decision on judges count.
