Summary
The electricity shortfall has reached to 2300 mega watt after suspension of gas supply to the rental power plants. The load shedding across the country has been increased. According to the Ministry of Water and Power production of electricity from the rental plants has fallen to zero which has resulted in deficiency of 1200 mega watts. According to the PEPCO sources, in urban areas the load shedding has been increased from 10 to 12 hours while in rural areas the duration is increased from 12 hours to 15 hours. In entire country the demand of electricity is 15354 mega watts while production is 13018 mega watts. Due to electricity shortage, KESC is being provided with 570 mega watt e electricity.
