Musharrafs trial not SC job, says CJP

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that it is not the Supreme Court job to trail former president Pervez Musharraf under treachery act. He said that the SC would not give such ruling that de-tracks the entire set-up. He said that national security was every ones duty and the court would also consider it. Giving remarks during the hearing of judges appointment case CJ said, Musharrafs trial was a job of some other forum. He said that the court didnt want to end the system under pretext of this case, adding that unconstitutional steps of November 03 would be eliminated. He said that it was judiciarys right to interpret the constitution. He said that the court would be very careful, adding that democracy would be strengthened at every cost. He said that after November 03 such ordinances were also passed which were about national security, adding that the court would take care of them. He said that it was parliaments duty to decide which ordinance should be abolished and which not.
