ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be held tomorrow, with preparations completed across the country.
The examination will be conducted in 34 cities across Pakistan and at an international centre in Riyadh. A total of 138,160 candidates have registered for the test.
Punjab has the highest number of registered candidates at 49,199, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 38,841 and Sindh with 34,233 candidates.
Balochistan has 9,923 registered candidates, while 2,761 candidates are registered in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 1,721 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1,245 in Islamabad. A further 237 candidates have registered for the examination centre in Riyadh.
According to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), a question bank containing around 8,000 questions has been prepared with the participation of nearly 80 subject experts.
Separate question papers have been prepared for each province. The PMDC said at least two separate papers were prepared for every province, with each paper containing 180 questions.
The council said the question papers may be retained by the relevant universities after the examination. The practical conduct of MDCAT will be the responsibility of the respective provincial authorities and designated universities.
The PMDC has a statutory role in developing the MDCAT examination framework, procedures and standards, while the provincial authorities and designated universities are responsible for conducting the test.
