GILGIT (Dunya News) - Newly elected Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate has approved the regularisation of 89 doctors in his first major administrative decision after assuming office.
The chief minister signed his first official order, granting permanent status to 89 doctors serving in the Health Department.
According to the provincial government, the decision was taken on the direction of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and is being viewed as a significant step towards strengthening the region's healthcare sector.
Officials said the move would help address the long-standing employment concerns of medical professionals while improving the delivery of healthcare services across Gilgit-Baltistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Amjad Hussain reaffirmed his government's commitment to public welfare, good governance and the provision of essential services. He also pledged to continue reforms in the Health Department and other key sectors to improve governance and public service delivery.
