ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan will launch a special anti-polio campaign from May 18 to 24 across 79 selected districts, aiming to vaccinate nearly 19 million children against the crippling disease.
According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), the campaign will be conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan, reflecting coordinated regional efforts to eradicate polio.
Officials said that in Punjab, around 6.19 million children will receive polio drops in 10 targeted districts, while in Sindh, approximately 5.79 million children will be vaccinated across 20 districts.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the campaign aims to cover 4.61 million children in 23 districts, whereas in Balochistan, about 1.99 million children will be administered the vaccine in 25 districts.
Additionally, around 450,000 children in Islamabad will be vaccinated during the campaign.
