Summary Aleema Khan has denied social media reports claiming Imran Khan met a former army chief in jail, calling the allegations completely fake and misleading.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk,) – Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has strongly rejected social media reports claiming that the former prime minister met a retired army chief at Adiala Jail, describing the claims as “totally fake”.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she said that no such meeting had taken place and that the circulating reports were false and misleading. She added that the information had also been verified with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who confirmed the claims were “totally fake”.
Aleema Khan said the reports were part of a broader disinformation campaign aimed at diverting attention from Imran Khan’s prison conditions. She alleged that the PTI founder was being kept in strict isolation and was not being provided adequate facilities, including medical care for his eye condition, access to books, television, or regular communication with family members.
She further claimed that Imran Khan had been denied contact with his sons and had only limited access to his lawyers in recent months. According to her statement, court orders permit regular meetings with family members, lawyers, and party representatives, but these have not been fully implemented.
Imran Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023 and is serving sentences in multiple corruption-related cases, including the £190 million case and the Toshakhana-II case.
Aleema Khan also referred to court-mandated visitation arrangements, stating that multiple individuals are allowed to meet him each week, although she claimed these rights were not being properly facilitated.
The controversy emerged after weekend social media speculation suggesting that a former army chief had visited Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. No official confirmation has supported these claims.
Sohail Afridi and other PTI leaders have previously raised concerns over access restrictions, alleging that meetings at the jail have been inconsistent despite court directives.
The situation continues to add to ongoing political tensions surrounding Imran Khan’s imprisonment, which remains one of the most closely followed political developments in the country.
