Online claim that Pakistani girl achieved score of 162 in IQ test is 'false'
11-year-old UK-based Iranian school student Tara Sharifi received highest possible Mensa IQ score
(Web Desk) – Online claim that Pakistani girl achieved a score of 162 in an IQ test administered by the world s largest high IQ society is ‘false’.
It is pertinent to mention here that this post has been shared thousands of times in social media.
This post also claimed that this girl has an IQ higher than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking but this claims is false. This girl is Iranian, not Pakistani. However, there are no records of Einstein and Hawking having taken IQ tests.
This information was shared on Facebook post on August 5, 2021; however, this post has been garnered more than 3,600 interactions on Facebook.
This post also shared by Pakistan-based twitter user on August, 8, 2021. "11 year old Pakistani girl Tara Baloch from Balochistan passes IQ level test (getting 162 marks ) of MENSA related to Oxford University & broke the record of ALBERT EINSTEIN (160) &HAWKING..Appreciation," the tweet said.
The tweet also contains the picture of a child in between those of scientists Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

Meanwhile, the claim is false. The intelligent girl s name is Tara Sharifi and she is from Iran, not Pakistan. This report was published on June 3, 2019 by Australian media outlet SBS.
According to the SBS, Tara Sharifi, 11-year-old UK-based Iranian high school student who received the highest possible Mensa IQ score. UK high schooler Tara Sharifi scored 162 points on the Mensa IQ test.
An 11-year-old Iranian school girl has just become the new face of braininess after receiving the highest possible score on the Mensa IQ test.
Tara Sharifi, a student in UK s Aylesbury High School, recently took the test in Oxford, where she scored an impressive 162 points. The result puts Sharifi well above the “genius benchmark” of 140.
It also places her just ahead of Albert Einstein s projected IQ of 160 (although Einstein never sat for the test and this estimation has been questioned).
It s an impressive acheivement, and none were as suprised as Tara herself.
