Students urged to refrain from indulging or spreading any such rumours

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on Thursday clarified that the rumors of varsity students tested positive for coronavirus are fake.

The student council assured the student body that no such case exists as of today and also urged the students to refrain from indulging or spreading any such rumours as the false news is resulting in panic.

The statement further said that the student council is well aware of the situation and were in touch with the administration and any updates on the issue will be immediately and clearly communicated to the student body. However, it is essential to take precautionary measures to protect yourself against this pandemic.

Earlier, rumors surfaced that 15 students returning from Turkey were tested positive. However, in a statement today, the Student Council has clarified that no such case exists. The council further said that it was in contact with the administration and any such rumors would be clarified.

20 students went to Turkey s Model United Nations and on their return they were tested. However, all of the students tested negative. They were once again tested at Chugtai Lab on LUMS directives and their test came out negative.
