Fazl calls for Al Aqsa’s liberation in meeting with top Hamas leadership in Qatar
Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has met with the top leadership of Palestinian group Hamas in Qatar.
Fazl called for the liberation of Al Aqsa mosque in his meeting and paid tribute to recently slain Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh.
US urges its citizens to leave Lebanon
The US embassy in Lebanon has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon on “any ticket available”, Al Jazeera reports
In a statement, the embassy said, “We encourage those who wish to depart Lebanon to book any ticket available to them, even if that flight does not depart immediately or does not follow their first-choice route.”
“We recommend that US citizens who choose not to depart Lebanon prepare contingency plans for emergency situations and be prepared to shelter in place for an extended period of time,” the statement read.
Israeli airstrikes kill nine in West Bank, including a Hamas commander
An Israeli airstrike in the occupied West Bank killed a Hamas commander and four Islamic Jihad fighters on Saturday, the militant groups' media reported, and the Israeli military said it had killed four more gunmen in a separate strike.
The Israeli military said the first airstrike hit a vehicle in a town near the city of Tulkarm, targeting a militant cell it said was on its way to carry out an attack. A Hamas media outlet said a vehicle carrying fighters had been struck and that one of those killed was a commander of its Tulkarm brigades.
Haniyeh was killed by a ‘short-range projectile’: IRGC
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) say that Hamas’s political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed by “a short-range projectile with a warhead of about 7 kilograms accompanied by a severe explosion from outside his room”, Al Jazeera reports.
In a statement, the IRGC said his assassination had been “planned and carried out by the Zionist regime” and supported by the “criminal government of the US”.
It says Tehran’s response will be “severe and at the appropriate time, place and manner”.
Israeli forces storm Tulkarem camp
Israeli military vehicles are bulldozing and destroying the streets inside the Tulkarem refugee camp.
The forces raided the camp and carrying out arrests creating a tense atmosphere inside the area.
Media reported that sporadic gunshots heard from Palestinian fighters still stationed inside the camp.
Israel has increased velocity of its raids, now averaging 40 raids per day in the occupied West Bank-- an exceptional increase since the war started.

Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, 85, the former grand mufti of Jerusalem and current head of its Supreme Islamic Council, called Haniyeh a "martyr" in his sermon at the mosque in Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, the lawyer said.
Hezbollah resumes steady rocket, artillery fire against Israel
BEIRUT (Reuters) - Hezbollah forces resumed rocket and artillery attacks against Israel on Friday (Aug 2), ending the lull along the border following Israel's killing of the Lebanese group's military commander in Beirut.
Hezbollah said it had fired a surface-to-air missile at an Israeli warplane flying in Lebanese airspace overnight and forced it to turn back. Its forces also carried out two artillery attacks and two rocket strikes at military positions in northern Israel, it said.
