Israeli forces physically assault Palestinian man near Tulkarem: Report

Israeli forces have severely beaten a Palestinian civilian south of the city of Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank, Wafa news agency has reported.

Local sources said soldiers stationed near the Jabara military checkpoint attacked Ahmed Talozi while he was near the checkpoint, fracturing his leg.

Talozi was transported to Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in the city for treatment, the report said.

Five family members killed while gathering water

The Israeli forces targeted a group of Palestinians (in Gaza City) trying to fill up water containers in one of the water distribution points. Five Palestinians from the same family, the al-Ghazi family, were killed in this shelling. Among them was a child.

We saw a video online showing the child in the arms of his father, covered with blood, lying on the ground before the paramedics were able to go and transfer them to the hospital.

Israeli forces bomb Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon

An Israeli army spokesperson says the Israeli forces have completed a series of attacks on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon.

“In the past few hours, warplanes attacked several Hezbollah targets, including a military site for the organisation in the Zabqin area, two operational infrastructure sites in the Khiam area, and a Hezbollah building in the al-Adissa area,” according to the Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant earlier said that Israel does not want to fight a war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, but that the Israeli army is ready for a war.

US military’s Gaza aid pier towed to Israel as Pentagon probes its ‘effectiveness’

The $230m, problem-prone Gaza aid pier that has been removed once again from the Palestinian territory’s coastline due to poor weather conditions and as the US Department of Defense (DoD) investigates its effectiveness.

The pier’s removal on Friday “due to high seas” marks the third time it has been detached from the shore since its initial installation in mid-May, and its facilitation of a modest 6,800 tonnes of food aid reaching Gaza since then.

Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh told journalists on Friday the pier has been towed back to Ashdod in Israel, and she did not have a date for the pier’s reinstallation.

The Defense Department’s Office of the Inspector General and USAID have launched “coordinated, independent oversight projects” on the delivery and distribution of US humanitarian aid via the “Gaza maritime corridor”, the Pentagon said in a statement on Thursday.

The “review will assess the effectiveness of DoD’s efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza through the maritime corridor,” the statement added.

International aid groups had warned before its launch that the US pier would be an ineffective way to deliver aid to Gaza, and that it could not substitute for opening land routes for aid, which had been blocked or severely restricted by Israeli military forces.

‘No safe place’ in Gaza

Israeli forces targeted a designated safe area--Al-Mawasi-- where displaced Palestinians had sought refuge, leading to casualties and difficulties in providing medical assistance.

Despite efforts to relocate, displaced individuals are facing ongoing danger from Israeli attacks, including airstrikes and shelling.

Palestinian fighters launch 24 attacks on Israeli forces in Shujayea: Monitors

Palestinian fighters have carried out at least 24 attacks on Israeli forces, who began advancing into Gaza City’s Shujayea neighbourhood on Thursday, US-based defence think tanks the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) and the Critical Threats Project (CTP) report.

The rate of attacks by Palestinian fighters in Shujayea compares with the Israeli ground invasion of Jabalia in May, which saw 33 attacks launched against Israeli forces in the first 24 hours in what became some of the toughest combat Israeli forces had faced since their ground invasion of Gaza.

In their latest daily update on fighting in Gaza, the joint ISW/CTP report also notes that Palestinian fighters on Friday carried out an attack with rocket-propelled grenades on Israeli troops and a combat outpost located to the south of Gaza City.

In southern Gaza, Palestinian fighters continued to put up a defence in Rafah on Friday with Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade conducting rocket and mortar attacks on Israeli troops in the city, and a Hamas sniper killing a soldier in the city’s east.

Battles rage in North Gaza as Palestinian fighters ambush Israeli troops

Palestinian fighters engaged Israeli forces in fierce battles in northern Gaza City’s Shujayea neighbourhood a day after tanks and troops rolled in and sent tens of thousands of terrified civilians fleeing.

The Israeli military has flattened the entire residential area, leaving Shujayea a ghost city with barely any traces of human life.

The Pentagon says a temporary, issue-prone US aid pier has again been removed from Gaza’s shoreline due to high seas, and it will be towed to an Israeli port.

Palestinian fighters have ambushed and killed four Israeli soldiers and wounded five others in the Shujayea neighbourhood of Gaza City, according to Israeli media.

Israel conducts deadly raids backed by air strikes in northern Gaza

Gaza City (AFP) - Days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the “intense phase” of the military operation in Rafah in southern Gaza was ending, enabling the redeployment of troops in the north, Israeli warplanes on Friday struck the Shujaiya district of Gaza City in northern Gaza.

Israel's military on Friday said it was conducting raids backed by air strikes in northern Gaza, killing "dozens" of militants in an area where it had declared the command structure of Hamas dismantled months ago.
