(Web Desk) - Heavy rainfall left several areas of Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) submerged, prompting former singer and social media personality Rabi Pirzada to raise concerns over the situation and address Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Pirzada shared a video on her Facebook page showing standing rainwater near her home in DHA Phase One. The video was captioned, “The situation in Lahore after rain and Maryam Nawaz’s Suthra Punjab.”

In the video, Pirzada said her office and school had also suffered damage following the rainfall. She questioned the effectiveness of the authorities responsible for managing the situation and said the condition of DHA had deteriorated after the heavy rain.

She also questioned where the government’s drainage and sanitation resources were being deployed.

Later, responding to comments on the video, Pirzada clarified that although the footage was recorded in DHA, similar conditions had affected several parts of Lahore following the heavy rainfall.

She said the purpose of sharing the video was not to target any particular area or institution but to draw the attention of the authorities to the difficulties faced by residents and encourage timely and effective action.

The video subsequently went viral on social media. Some users, however, commented that water accumulation after intense rainfall was common and could not always be cleared immediately, adding that drainage operations had removed the standing water within a few hours.
