Summary Bushra Ansari reflects on social issues involving remarriage, harassment, violence against women

(Web Desk) - Veteran actor Bushra Ansari has criticised what she described as manipulative men who remarry for personal or financial gain.

Speaking on her YouTube channel, she referred to her daughter's divorce and said her daughter had been deceived by a man who appeared polite, educated, and well-spoken.

Bushra said such men often create a good impression with their manners and English-speaking skills, making it difficult for others to recognise their true intentions. According to her, they hide their past actions and easily gain the trust of new partners.

She also claimed that some educated men have successful second marriages because of their manipulative behaviour. Bushra said these men often leave their previous marriages not because of serious problems but because they expect better financial or personal benefits elsewhere.

Without naming anyone, Bushra suggested that she had witnessed such behaviour within her own family. She said she was surprised that educated women continue to trust such men despite warnings.

Referring to a reported second marriage, she said the new wife was willing to support her husband financially, adding that it was her personal choice.

Bushra also expressed concern about the increasing cases of harassment and violence against women in Pakistan. She said women face harassment regardless of what they wear or where they go, stressing that the problem lies with the offenders rather than the victims.

She described the situation as worrying and said harmful behaviour can be found among men from all social and economic backgrounds. Bushra added that families should feel grateful if their children remain safe.

Ending her remarks, Bushra called for stricter punishments for crimes against women, especially acid attacks. She said such attacks leave lifelong physical and emotional scars and urged the government to review existing laws to ensure stronger penalties for offenders.
