MUMBAI (Dunya News) – Nora Fatehi has issued a firm response to critics who targeted her online after she shared a message calling for global peace amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The 34-year-old Canadian-born actress and dancer had recently taken to Instagram to condemn the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran, expressing solidarity with victims of violence and urging unity across nations. However, her remarks drew backlash from some social media users, who accused her of taking sides and criticised her perceived support for Muslims.

In a new video posted on Instagram, Fatehi addressed the controversy directly, saying many people had “lost the ability to listen and understand”. She stressed that critical thinking was a skill learned in school and urged viewers to reflect before reacting with anger.

“My message of peace and unity is for every single human being, regardless of their country or religion,” she said in the video. “If a call for peace triggers you, then perhaps you need to look within yourself.”

The actress added that speaking out against chaos and violence should not make anyone an enemy. “Every country and every individual is part of this world. Opposing disorder does not mean you are against someone,” she stated.

Referring to the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, Fatehi said she felt compelled to express her emotions, describing it as alarming that calls for peace could provoke hostility.

In the caption accompanying the video, she reaffirmed her stance, writing that she stands by her words and believes anyone angered by appeals for global unity should “seek help”.

Earlier, Fatehi had also shared that continuous distressing news and images from the Middle East had taken an emotional toll on her.
