The debate erupted on social media after model Mahnoor Rahim publicly accused producer Umer Mukhtar of sending inappropriate messages
KARACHI (Web Desk) - Amid a growing controversy in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, Hania Aamir has broken her silence, reiterating her firm stance against harassment and exploitation while addressing questions surrounding her associations.
The debate erupted on social media after model Mahnoor Rahim publicly accused producer Umer Mukhtar of sending inappropriate messages while allegedly being married.
As screenshots circulated online, several other women voiced similar concerns, intensifying scrutiny around professional boundaries in showbiz circles.
The conversation soon widened when Rahim criticised Aamir, questioning how a star known for championing women’s rights could maintain ties with someone facing such allegations.
Hania has cultivated a public image as a “girls’ girl,” often uplifting fellow female artists and speaking openly about empowerment.

Currently one of Pakistan’s most bankable stars with back-to-back hit projects, Aamir also serves as a National Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women, a role that places her advocacy for women’s rights under greater public scrutiny.
Responding via Instagram, Aamir clarified that she had no prior knowledge of the allegations and was not involved in the matter in any capacity.
Without naming anyone directly, she stated that any behaviour that compromises the dignity and safety of women and girls is unacceptable.
She stressed that sensitive issues must be handled with seriousness and respect.

The actor further expressed solidarity with women who have come forward, emphasising that safe working environments are essential across all industries.
In light of recent concerns, she announced that she has chosen to distance herself from the individual in question, adding that no social or professional association should be interpreted as endorsing another person’s alleged conduct.
Reaffirming her commitment to accountability and mutual respect, Aamir said it is a collective responsibility to challenge harmful behaviour and support those affected.
Her statement has drawn mixed reactions online — with many applauding her clarity, while others argue she should have addressed the issue more explicitly.
