LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore’s skies burst with color as Basant festival makes a vibrant return, drawing excited crowds and celebrities into the celebrations.
The three-day festival, held after a more than two-decade hiatus, is being celebrated under strict regulations by the Punjab government.
The return of Basant has revived Lahore’s festive charm, with rooftops dotted with colorful kites, lively streets, and a palpable sense of joy across the city
Showbiz stars joined the celebrations at the Delhi Gate event, coming from Karachi and abroad. Actor Yasir Hussain, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Adeel, Mohib Mirza, along with actresses Jagan Kazim, Ali Zarghoon, Faryal Khan, Gohar, and Amna, were among the attendees.
The celebrities expressed gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for facilitating the festival’s return. Actor Mikaal Zulfiqar said, “Lahore and Basant are inseparable, and it’s heartening to see Basant back in full swing,” while Adeel credited the Chief Minister for the festival’s revival.
Actress Saba Qamar also joined the Basant celebrations writing that two days in her busy schedule are for kite flying.

Imran Ashraf and Usama Khan were spotted flying kites from rooftops, adding to the city’s festive spirit.
