LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab government has stepped up efforts to revive the province’s cultural vibrancy with the release of a new Basant anthem, signaling a renewed push to restore the spring festival’s celebratory spirit under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Titled ‘Phir Aai Basant’ (Basant Is Back), the anthem has been released by the Punjab Information and Culture Department and shared through Alhamra Lahore’s official Instagram account.
The song is performed by renowned Sialkot-based singer and composer Bilal Saeed and is being promoted as the soundtrack of Punjab’s most-anticipated cultural event.
The music video features model and actor Nabeel Zubairi alongside food blogger Ali Rehman and has been filmed across the historic streets of old Lahore.
Several scenes are set against the iconic picture wall of Lahore Fort, with dancers dressed in bright, festive colours capturing the essence of Basant, a season traditionally associated with kites, colour, and celebration.
Alongside its festive tone, the anthem incorporates a clear message on safety and responsibility.
The lyrics include a warning that violations of festival rules will result in action by authorities, followed by a call to celebrate Basant responsibly.
