KARACHI (Dunya News) - Renowned Pakistani actor and comedian Ahmed Ali Butt criticized Indian poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, saying that respect for certain Indian artists is not reciprocated.

Speaking on his YouTube podcast, where he regularly shares opinions on national and international trending topics, Butt stated that Akhtar is among the Indian artists who, in his view, have lost their artistic value. “He has become more of a blemish than a contributor to art,” Butt said.

He recalled that Akhtar visited Pakistan last year, during which Pakistan extended him great respect, but according to Butt, Akhtar made remarks against the country. “I have realized that you cannot expect respect from Indians, and they do not deserve our respect either,” he added.

Butt emphasized that while he is a peaceful person, the lack of mutual respect in response to gestures of goodwill can warrant criticism and trolling.
