Junaid Safdar, grandson of former PM Nawaz Sharif, has tied the knot with Shanzeh Ali Rohail in Lahore with top political figures attending.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore witnessed the marriage of Junaid Safdar, grandson of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, to Shanzeh Ali Rohail.
The Nikah ceremony was conducted by Mufti Raghib Naeemi, Chairman of the Islamic Ideology Council, with the dower (Mahr) set at Rs125,000.
The wedding celebrations in Lahore saw a number of prominent political figures in attendance, including former prime minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Mian Amer Mahmood, Chaudhry Munir, and Ishaq Dar.
Other guests included Hamza Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz, Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, Captain (r) Safdar, Rana Sanaullah, Maryam Aurangzeb, and Azma Bukhari. International guests were also present.
Shanzeh Ali Rohail, Janid Safdar’s bride, is the granddaughter of well-known political figure Sheikh Rohail Asghar. The groom’s procession (Baraat) reached a private housing society in Lahore, with his vehicle adorned with rose petals.
The Mehndi ceremony was held the previous night at Jati Umra, attended by close family and relatives. Security measures were strictly enforced throughout the three-day festivities to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.

The Walima ceremony is scheduled for 18 January 2026 (Sunday) at Jati Umra, with around 800 guests expected to attend, according to sources.
