YouTuber Rajab Butt deported from UK over visa violation

LONDON (Dunya News) – YouTuber Rajab Butt has been deported from the United Kingdom after the Home Office revoked his visa.

The deportation came after British authorities discovered that Butt had failed to declare multiple pending legal cases against him while applying for a visa, which had been valid until 2027. The UK Home Office confirmed that the cancellation of his visa was in line with immigration rules concerning undeclared cases.

Butt has left the country following the formal expulsion orders. It is not yet clear whether Rajab Butt will return to Pakistan or head to another country, as he could potentially face cases over alleged promotion of a gambling app.

The scrutiny followed an inquiry by Britain’s MI-16, which had briefly detained Butt and fellow YouTuber Nadeem Naniwala based on anonymous complaints alleging links to terrorism. Both men were cleared of such allegations. While Naniwala, a British national, was released, Butt’s documents were forwarded to the Home Office for further examination.

During this review, authorities found the undeclared active cases, reportedly already communicated by Pakistani institutions. Following these findings, the UK government issued a formal notice instructing Butt to leave the country immediately. A source close to Butt confirmed the deportation, and Naniwala stated he was accompanying Butt back to Pakistan.

Earlier this month, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted protective bail to Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala.
