(Dunya News)- The 35th death anniversary of Pakistan’s celebrated film actor and comedian Nirala, is being observed on Tuesday (today).
Born in 1937, the artist, whose real name was Syed Muzaffar Hussain Zaidi, entered the film industry under the stage name Nirala.
With his unique comic timing, expressive style, and unforgettable screen presence, he earned a special place in the golden era of Pakistani cinema.
Over the course of his career, Nirala appeared in more than one hundred films, showcasing his versatility and exceptional talent for humor. His effortless ability to bring laughter to audiences made him one of the most cherished comedians of his time.

Among his most successful and well-remembered films are ‘Speran’, ‘Mr. X’, ‘Shararat’, ‘Chhoti Behan’, ‘Heera Aur Patthar’, ‘Armaan’, ‘Ehsaan’, ‘Doraha’, ‘Zameen Ka Chaand’, ‘Insaan Aur Gadha’, ‘Jahan Tum Wahan Hum’, and ‘Naseeb Apna Apna’.
Nirala achieved his greatest fame through the classic film ‘Armaan’, in which his comedic role received tremendous praise and became a defining highlight of his career.
His performances were characterized by originality, spontaneity, and a distinctive style that few could replicate. His final film was ‘Choron Ka Badshah’, marking the end of an illustrious journey in cinema.
On 9 December 1990, after a brief illness, Nirala passed away, leaving behind countless fans and admirers who continue to cherish his contributions to Pakistani film comedy. Even decades later, he is fondly remembered as a pioneer of humor and an irreplaceable icon of the industry.
