According to the announcement, Ustad Naseeruddin Saami is being recognized internationally for keeping alive the ancient Sufi tradition of 'Khayal' singing.
The Aga Khan Music Awards ceremony will be held in London from November 20 to 23, where Pakistan’s Saami family and India’s Warsi Brothers will receive the 'Patron’s Award' on November 21.
It is noteworthy that the Saami family’s music has introduced Pakistan’s classical heritage to audiences around the world.
