Diljit Dosanjh faced racist remarks in Australia but responded gracefully, expressing unity and respect for hardworking people like drivers worldwide.
(Web Desk) - Renowned Bollywood actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh faced racial prejudice and stereotyping while performing in Australia.
According to foreign media reports, what stood out most in the incident was not the hate or criticism itself, but Dosanjh’s composed, respectful, and powerful response, which won the hearts of fans across the world.
Diljit Dosanjh said that when he arrived in Australia, he was stopped at the airport for photographs, but the comments that followed were shocking.
“When I came to Australia, some agencies published my photos, and later someone sent me the comments people were making - they were saying things like ‘the new Uber driver has arrived’ or ‘the new 7–11 store employee is here’.
Dosanjh explained that he has seen many such racist remarks, but he believes the world should be united and without borders. Despite the criticism, he responded with dignity and humility, saying he has no objection to being compared to a taxi or truck driver.
He added that it doesn’t hurt him to be likened to such workers, as he deeply respects hardworking people who keep the world running. “If there were no truck drivers, even bread wouldn’t reach your home. I am not angry - my love is for everyone, even for those who make such comments about me,” he said.
