Germany: Well-heeled ladies go for run

One hundred young ladies wearing high heels have competed in a special run in central Berlin, hoping to win a shopping voucher worth 10,000 euros. The so called stiletto run was organised by a womens magazine and drew several hundred spectators to the race track set up near the German capitals Kurfuerstendamm Boulevard. According to the regulations, only 100 participants were admitted and their high heels had to be at least 7 centimetres in height. Winner Julia Plecher admitted after completing the 100 metre run that it was actually terribly exhausting. I felt real pressure and that probably explains the speed.
