(Web Desk) - The WhatsApp account of Pakistan’s senior actor Asma Abbas has been hacked, it emerged on Sunday.

Legendary actor Bushra Ansari shared a screenshot of messages received from Asma Abbas’ number.

Bushra Ansari on Sunday posted a screenshot of a chat on Instagram, revealing that Asma’s WhatsApp had been hacked.

The senior actor wrote, “Please do not trust such messages.”

In the screenshot shared by Bushra Ansari, the hacker, using Asma Abbas’ name, is seen asking a person named Ibrahim for a loan of Rs10 lacs.

Additionally, Asma Abbas shared a video on Instagram, stating that messages demanding money were being sent to many people from her number, and urged everyone to ignore such messages.

She said, “This has become very common nowadays, where WhatsApp accounts are hacked to demand money from acquaintances.”

The senior actor added, “This has caused a lot of distress to my loved ones and friends, for which I apologize.”

How was WhatsApp hacked?

Asma Abbas explained that she received a call claiming a parcel had arrived for her and was asked to share a code sent via WhatsApp. She mentioned that her daughter Zara had sent something a few days ago, and she assumed the parcel was delayed due to rains, so she shared the code.

The senior actor noted, “This is happening a lot in Pakistan. As soon as I shared the code, my WhatsApp was hacked.”
