LAHORE (Dunya News)  – Veteran actor Shamoon Abbasi has revealed that it was one-sided love which pushed him into depression, distress and got him suffer from unspeakable crisis and sufferings.

Appearing on Dunya News programme Mazaq Raat, Shamoon Abbasi spoke candidly on various issues.

“I have always failed to maintain relationships, and I believe there must have been some shortcomings on my part as well,” he admitted.

Abbasi shared that in his pursuit of professional success, he became so consumed with work that his close relationships slowly drifted away. While others moved on to make the best decisions for their own lives, he found himself isolated and increasingly self-critical.

“When all of this happened, I started seeing myself as a failure,” he said.

The actor reflected on how people only truly learn about relationships through experience, not theory. He believed that things would eventually fall into place with hard work — but instead, life took a different turn.

“I thought life would improve with a little struggle, but it didn’t. My close relationships left me, and I was completely alone,” he shared.

Abbasi described the emotional devastation he experienced when those relationships ended, saying it broke him from within. The loneliness and heartbreak eventually pushed him into a deep depression.

“It affected my abilities, made me withdrawn, and I became so quiet and serious that people around me were scared — some even thought I was a terrorist,” he said, highlighting how drastically his personality changed during that time.

Shamoon Abbasi’s openness about his mental health struggles has resonated with many fans who praised his honesty and courage in discussing topics often considered taboo in the entertainment industry.
