Lahore: Drama festival continues with more performances

Ten-day drama festival continues in Lahore and two plays were presented on the third day.

Different non-commercial groups are participating in the 10-day drama festival organised by the Lahore Arts Council at Alhamra Hall. The plays based on social issues are receiving attention and applause of the audience.Actress Kanwal’s team presented a beautiful play ‘Khote Sike’ and highlighted problems created by the custom of dowry and its impacts on society. The young performers delivered the message of eradication of dowry and better social treatment of daughters.In another play ‘Shanakht’, problems of eunuchs were highlighted in a comic tone and appeal was raised to accept eunuchs’ rights.
