Sunny Deol reveals he 'never' read film scripts, dialogues because of his dyslexia

He opens up about how dyslexic never came in the way of his Bollywood career
(Web Desk)- Actor Sunny Deol, who recently revealed that he was dyslexic as a child, says he has never read a film script in his career. The actor, who has been in the industry for four decades now, says he often prefers his scenes and dialogues “narrated” to him.
In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Sunny had said he would also often get “slapped” for not scoring well in studies, but no one really knew what dyslexia meant back then. The actor had said him being dyslexic was one of the reasons why he would be nervous about public speeches, as he would have to “read” from a teleprompter, which was a task.
In the latest episode of Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny Deol was asked about his dyslexia. To which Sunny replied, “I never read a script because I couldn’t read. I never read any dialogues, I feel them and emote. When a director gives me script, I don’t read. I often ask them to narrate it to me, what they want me to say, then I will say it in my own style.
“It is important for the message to come across. If I hear the dialogues, then it becomes easy for me to read. I understand the words better that way. It becomes easy for me. At the end of the day, the dialogues have to be spoken in a manner that feels more personal, not like a ‘dialogue.'”
Sunny Deol is currently basking in the success of his recently released film Gadar 2. The Anil Sharma directorial has netted a whopping Rs 512 crore in its run since its release on August 11. It is aiming to challenge the lifetime record of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, at Rs 524 crore (Hindi), even as another SRK film, Jawan, is storming the box office currently.
