Wasim said that the drama he used to consider as detrimental established record viewership
KARACHI (Web Desk) - Showbiz industry’s actor Wasim Abbas from strongly criticized TV dramas, saying that no one should watch them.
In a recent interview, the actor stated that the showbiz industry is promoting wrong ideologies in the minds of consumers due to the obsession with ratings, resulting in promotion of negative stereotypes.
He mentioned that once after the shooting of a drama that was about to go on air, he told his son to pray that the program may get broadcasted during load shedding so no one can watch it, the content was very negative, he added.
Wasim Abbas said, up to his surprise, the drama he used to consider as detrimental established record viewership.
He expressed great regret over the fact that nowadays the success of any TV show is measured by its ratings, and quality content is being ignored.
Regarding his son Ali Abbas, he said that he never supported him unduly in showbiz, and he believes that his son has not yet been able to explore his true potential in the industry.
