Lady Gaga is suing a marketing company which has trademarked her name.
The 25-year-old singer launched the suit against Excite Worldwide LLC, accusing them of using her stage name to sell their own range of cosmetics and accessories.The company has refused to withdraw the application to use names such as Lady Gaga and Lady Gaga Fame at the US Patents and Trademarks Office, forcing the star to go to the New York State court to be allowed to use them on her own range of items.Although the office has suspended the application, it must be lifted before Gagas own claim can be filed.Brad D. Rose, who is representing Lady Gaga, told WWD: As long as someone is ahead of us on line - even if they are on life support - they are still blocking us.Lady Gaga - who was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - will also seek damages for any goods sold using her name.
