Legendry classical singer Amanat Ali Khan was remembered by the people of music fraternity and art lover on his death anniversary.He was born in 1932 at Sham Chaurasi in Hoshiarpur, now a part of Indian Punjab, and moved to Pakistan soon after independence. He rose to fame when he was aired on Radio Pakistan and earned a huge recognition for his mastery over singing various rags.He was equally popular among the masses and critics.He represented prestigious Patiala Gharana, the family that carried the traditional and classical aura of indigenous music, and eventually became the pride of the family.His memorable songs include “Aa Mere Pyaar Ki Khushboo”, “Yeh Arzoo Thi”, “Mausam Badla”, “Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat”, “Insha Je Utho” and “Kab Aao Ge”.Ustad Amanat Ali died at age of 42 in Lahore in 1974. He was honored with the ‘Pride of Performance’ award by the government of Pakistan.
