Folk legend Alam Lohar's death anniversary today

Legendary folk singer Alam Lohar's 32th death anniversary is being observed today (Sunday).

Muhammad Alam Lohar was born in Ginjrat on March 1, 1928. He was fond of folk singing, particularly rendition of Lok Dastaan.Alam Lohar’s passion for folk singing got him a place in theatres, which spring-boarded him to popularity. After Independence, Alam served Pakistan TV and Radio Pakistan as well.He was state guest of the Queen’s Jubilee event in the UK. President Ayub Khan was amongst his celebrity fans.Alam Lohar died in an accident at the age of 50.
