Fast & Furious franchise reportedly ending after 11th movie
(Web Desk0 – The 19 yr old journey of Fast and Furious is reportedly coming to an end as Deadline and Variety are reporting the franchise will come to a close following the release of the 11th film.
Details are limited, but the 10th and 11th films will reportedly be directed by Justin Lin who has previously worked on The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast & Furious 6 and F9. There’s word on plot details, but the upcoming movies are expected to reunite regulars including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster and Ludacris, among countless others.
While some will undoubtedly be sad that the main franchise will be coming to a close, a planned ending could enable writers to give the characters a proper send-off. That being said, the Fast saga might not be completely done as it’s possible spin-offs could continue the story well into the future.
Of course, it will be years before the movies are released, as F9 has been pushed back until May of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The movie was originally slated to be released this year, but its premiere has been pushed back at least two times.
