The touching fairy-tale adventure Shrek is now on stage at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in Londons West End.The musical that focuses on the first movie of the hugely successful Dreamworks film franchise of the same name, and is based on the classic William Steig book, is about an ogre called Shrek who gets the princess, Fiona, who is under a deformity spell.It stars British actor Nigel Lindsay in the title role of Shrek and Amanda Holden as Princess Fiona.English comedian Richard Blackwood takes on Hollywood actor Eddie Murphys voice part as Shreks wisecracking sidekick Donkey, alongside British actor Nigel Harman as Lord Farquaad, voiced by John Lithgow in the original 2001 film.Prince Charles met the cast and crew in London along with actor Jack Black, Dreamworks animation studios founder Jeffrey Katzenberg and Oscar-winning film director Sam Mendes, whose production studio co-produced the play.
