Summary A court in Mumbai banned Pakistani artist Adnan Sami to leave India for concerts in other countries.
The Pakistani artist, who has been working in the Indian entertainment industry, was barred from going out of India to perform concerts in Dubai, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. Adnan Sami is booked for violating the Foreign Exchange Management Act by buying a residential flat and also has a domestic violence case register against him for assaulting his wife.Adnan filed an application in a session court to be allowed for performing shows in foreign countries. During the hearing, the public prosecutor pointed out that Adnan Sami was a Pakistani citizen and if he went back to his country, it would be difficult to get him back because India and Pakistan have no extradition treaty.After hearing both sides, the court barred Adana Sami from leaving the country.
