Summary The international Ballet Dance Awards 2011 were held at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
The awards for the 2011 Benois de la Danse ballet competition were announced at a gala celebration in central Moscow.The prizes for best ballet dancers went to European, Chinese, Cuban and Russian dancers while Finnish and Belgian choreographers received a joint best choreography award.Russia prides itself on being the epicentre of the ballet world and over the past 100 years, Russian ballet dancers have gained immense popularity but this year very few Russian dancers took part in the competition. The Benois de la Danse is an annual ballet competition, which takes place in Moscow, and is judged by a new international jury each year, which is comprised of ballet professionals.
