Yearender 2019: Naimal Khawar Khan tops the Google Trends list in Pakistan
Naimal Khawar Khan has topped the Google Trends with her marriage with Hamza Ali Abbasi.
(Web Desk) – As the 2019 is near to its end, Google has released its official trending list for most searched people in Pakistan.
The Google Trends Year in Search 2019 is based on search terms that had the highest searches in 2019 as compared to the previous year.
The most searched people of Pakistan in 2019 were:
1) NAIMAL KHAWAR KHAN
Former actor and visual artist, Naimal Khawar Khan, has managed to come out as the most trending Pakistani person in 2019. She got hitched to the former actor Hamza Ali Abbasi in August.
She was highlighted most when she bid farewell to the showbiz industry following her wedding.
Khan said she understood the celebrities, who are in the spotlight most of the time, often face a lot of people commenting on their personal lives as well as their politics and viewpoints.
"I left acting 9 months ago and the decision was entirely mine,” said Naimal.
2) "CHOCOLATE HERO" WAHEED MURAD
Waheed Murad also known as the ‘Chocolate Hero’ comes in second on the top most searched in list. He rose to the second number in the country after the search engine honored him with a Google Doodle on his 81st birthday.
Pakistani cinema is indebted to the great film actor, producer and script writer who charmed the cinema-goers with his expressions, personality, voice and unusual acting talent.
In 2010, 27 years after his death, the Pakistani government awarded him with ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz’, the third-highest honour and civilian award by the State of Pakistan, given in the fields of literature, arts, sports, medicine, or science.
3) BABAR AZAM
The most loved and consistent player of today’s Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, without any surprise came third. 2019 totally belonged to the Pakistani athlete who always stood up for his country in dire cricket situations.
The Pakistani run machine started the year with some delightful stroke play against South Africa and Dale Steyn, and also did reasonably well in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 but truly emerged as a superstar during the World Cup 2019 in summer in English when he smashed several batting records.
Babar Azam remains the world’s top-ranked T20I batsman — a feat for which he was rewarded with the format’s national captaincy.
4) ASIF ALI
Having Asif Ali on fourth number is quite shocking as he might had a remarkable PSL 2019 but went on to disappoint for the rest of the year.
He was added into the cricket teams for his ability to hit it out-of-the-park but he neither hit big nor small for the rest of the year. Perhaps, the promise of Pakistan unearthing a much-needed slogger made cricket fans search for him.
5) "MAJOR" ADNAN SAMI
Pakistan’s “undercover agent” Adnan Sami without any doubt made it to the most searched list. Adnan Sami was dubbed as secret agent for Pakistan following the rising tension between India and Pakistan by the social media users to mock him over his tweets. Pakistan trolled the singer hash-tagging him with the country’s agent.
Sami who previously held a Pakistani passport and received Indian citizenship in 2015, is often seen trending on social media usually when tensions run high between Pakistan and India.
6) SARA ALI KHAN
The starlet, Sara Ali Khan, who without any doubt is very searchable also emerged in Pakistan’s Google Trends. She is the daughter of actors, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh.
Her work in Simmba alongside Ranveer Singh gave a boost to her popularity. Her active social media presence keeps her in the limelight for most of the time, and she is ready to rule the Bollywood in coming years.
Sara can next be seen alongside Kartik Aaryan in a Imtiaz Ali drama film Aaj Kal, and also with Varun Dhawan in 1995 adaptation of the comedy film Coolie No 1.
7) MOHAMMAD AMIR
Pakistan spearhead, Mohammad Amir, also had a decent PSL 2019 but he infamously went through a lengthy wicketless period with the national cricket team.
He almost missed out on the World Cup 2019 but was eventually picked and redeemed himself, almost carrying Pakistan on his back during the first half of the tournament, which is when most of the Google searches for him must have come.
Post-World Cup, his retirement from Test cricket stirred up new controversy, which once again reignited fans’ interest in him.
8) ALIZEH SHAH
The 19-year-old actress rose to fame with her role in Ishq Tamasha, for which she also bagged an award for ‘Best New Sensation’ in Pakistan.
She has jumped out to be one of the most searched person in Pakistan. She also acted along starlet Mahira Khan in Superstar.
But it is her work in drama Ehd-e-Wafa as Dua, which has put the actor in Pakistan’s most searched people list.
9) Abhinandan Varthaman
This guy had to be the most searched person not only in Pakistan but all around the globe. Abhinandan rose to ‘fame’ with his failed aerial dogfight with Pakistan Air Force, and ‘Tea is fantastic’ phrase which has won the heart of everyone around the world.
However, it was courteous demeanour in a video showing him sipping a cup of ‘fantastic‘ tea and labeled it as "fantastic", which made him a viral sensation.
10) Madiha Naqvi
News anchor Madiha Naqvi concludes 2019’s top searches after she got hitched with Muhttahid Quami Movement’s (MQM) Faisal Sabzwari in a low-key marriage ceremony this summer.
