'Donkey King' set to become first Pakistani film to premiere in Spain

Donkey King will become the first Pakistani movie to be ever screened in Spain on October 4.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Much acclaimed highest-grossing Pakistani animated movie, Donkey King a.k.a Donkey Raja, is all set to rule the Spain and Catalonia’s box-office after South Korea.

Donkey King directed by Aziz Jindani will be dubbed into three languages; Spanish, Catalan and Basque under three different titles “El Rey Burro” “El Rei Ruc” and “Asto Erregea”.

Animated movie will become the first Pakistani movie to be ever screened in Spain on October 4. It will be released in main cities like Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and others.

According to a local magazine website, Aziz Jindani, the director and mastermind behind The Donkey King, and the man behind Pakistan’s first and most popular superhero animated series has stated, “We are ecstatic that Donkey King has found resonance with global cine distributors. It is proof that a good story, grounded in universal insight, has the ability to transcend boundaries and geographical barriers. We are not done yet though”.

The Donkey King is an animated comedy film that was released in Pakistan in October 2018. The film features the voices of Jan Rambo, Ismail Tara, Hina Dilpazeer, Ghulam Mohiuddin and Javed Sheikh, and grossed Rs247 millions after running in the cinemas for 25 weeks.

Last month, Donkey Raja was released in South Korea where it collected a whopping amount of Rs7.6 million in its first weekend.
