Actor Jason Statham and musician John Mayer take part in Bottle Cap Challenge

(REUTERS) - Celebrities are taking part in the latest viral craze, known as the  #BottleCapChallenge .

The challenge involves a person kicking a cap off a bottle in single stroke.

Musician John Mayer uploaded a video to his instagram of himself kicking a red cap off a bottle on Sunday (June 30) after being challenged by martial artist Max Holloway.

The video has since been viewed 4.9 million times.

Mayer also challenged actor Jason Statham to step up. The action star rose admirably to Mayer, uploading his own attempt on Tuesday (July 2) that has since been viewed 14.5 million views.
