Celebrities who failed to be part of new Indian cabinet despite winning elections

NEW DEHLI (Dunya News) – Many celebrities who won the elections contesting for The Bharatiya Janata Party got deprived of the seat in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s new cabinet.

Narendra Modi has been sworn in for a second term as India’s prime minister after an overwhelming election victory for his Hindu nationalist party in a country of 1.3 billion people seeking swift economic change.

Smriti Irani who was a vital person in the previous government of PM Modi, who defeated the Rahul Gandhi in elections 2019, yet again included in the cabinet once again.

Many celebrities failed to carve a place in the new cabinet like Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who won a seat from the East Delhi, Bollywood veteran Hema Malini won the Mathura Lok Sabha seat for second consecutive time and her stepson Sunny Deol who won the seat for Gurdaspur constituency also failed to be a part of new cabinet.

Bollywood actress Kiran Kher has also won the elections for second time but yet again failed to be a part of the cabinet. Punjabi singer Hans Raj Hans succeeded from Delhi North West constituency but was not given any ministry. Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishan made a record breaking win for Gorakhpur seat but also got deprived of the cabinet.

Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari defeated Congress s Sheila Dixit but failed to become a part of the cabinet.

Attention now turns to the priorities of the next Modi government, as the Indian economy, while still growing at relatively robust rates, faces a cocktail of issues: From a continuing youth jobs crisis, to indications of growing distress among India s farmers.
