(Web Desk) – Armeena Khan, who is very vocal has called out India over branding of a Muslim prisoner in Tihar jail with the Indian religious symbol ‘OM’.

According to Indian media reports, Shabbir complained about a stove in his barack to the supritendent named ‘Rajesh Chauhan,’ who then beat him up with few other accomplices in his office for allegedly acting as a politician and branded his back with an ‘OM’ symbol.

The accused official denied him food for two days and then told him, ‘he had converted to Hinduism as he had ‘fasted’ during Navratri,’ India Today reported.
To probe further into the matter the court ordered an inquiry.
‘The allegations raised by the accused are of serious nature and required immediate intervention, a notice is being issued to DGP, Prisoner, Head Quarter, Jail No. 4, New Delhi to get the medical examination of accused Nabbir conducted with immediate effect and also to make enquiry report regarding the burn imprinted ‘Om’ mark on the person of the accused.’
