This year is nearing an end now and so here we are to pay tribute to all those notable personalities who are no longer with us. They will always be remembered by people around the world. January
4th Jan, 2018: Zubaida Tariq, also commonly known as Zubaida Aapa, was a chef and cooking expert from Pakistan. She was the first celebrity cook of Pakistan, appearing on a number of TV shows and she was specifically known for her worthy totkas. She was suffering from Parkinson s disease and passed away at the age of 72.

5th Jan, 2018: Mohammad Asghar Khan Afridi was a Pakistani politician, military officer, Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force and an autobiographer, later a dissident serving for the cause of pacifism, peace, and the human rights. He died at the age of 96.
5th Jan, 2018: Rasa Chughtai was a Pakistani poet in Urdu who was known for Zanjeer-e-Hamsaigi and Tere Aane Ka Intezaar Raha. He died at the age of 90 in Karachi.
19th Jan, 2018: Munnu Bhai was a newspaper journalist and columnist, poet and a writer of Pakistan. He was awarded the Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan in 2007 for his services to the nation. He died on 19 January 2018 in Lahore, aged 84.

February
1st Feb, 2018: Fariha Razzaq Haroon was a Pakistani politician and journalist who was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 2002 to 2007. She was found dead in her home in Karachi along with her husband Hazar Khan Bijarani. Police said the death appeared to be a murder-suicide.
5th Feb, 2018: Siddiq Baloch was a Pakistani English-language journalist, and senior political economist. He was Editor-in-chief of the English daily Balochistan Express, The Guardian an Urdu daily Azadi, and the English Weekly Express. He died at the age of 77.
11th Feb, 2018: Asma Jahangir was a Pakistani human rights lawyer and social activist who co-founded and chaired the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. She suffered a stroke leading to brain hemorrhage and passed away at the age of 66.

11th Feb, 2018: Qazi Wajid was one of the legendary actors of Pakistan. He passed away at the age of 87 subsequent to heart failure.

17th Feb, 2018: Famous stage and television actor Munna Lahori whose real name was Matloob-ur-Rehman, became popular for his character Zakoota Jin in children comedy drama Ainak Wala Jin, died in Lahore at the age of 68.
24th Feb, 2018: The legendary gorgeous Bollywood star Sridevi Kapoor drowned in a hotel bathtub and couldn’t survive. She was only 54 at the time of her death.

March
5th Mar, 2018: Jam Saqi was a left-wing politician from Sindh, Pakistan. He was previously the general secretary of the Communist Party of Pakistan. He died at the age of 73 following kidney failure.
11th Mar, 2018: Muhammad Ashiq was a Pakistani cyclist. He competed at the 1960 Summer Olympics and the 1964 Summer Olympics. He started his career as a boxer. However after a fight, where he received many injuries, he switched his career to cycling. He worked as a rickshaw driver in Pakistan as well. Ashiq passed away at the age of 82.
20th Mar, 2018: Muhammad Ayaz Soomro was a Pakistani politician and lawyer, who had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. Previously he had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as well. He passed away at the age of 59.

14th Mar, 2018: Stephen Hawking, a world-renowned British theoretical physicist, known for his contributions to the fields of cosmology, general relativity and quantum gravity, especially in the context of black holes, died at home at the age of 76.

April
2nd Apr, 2018: Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, former wife of Nelson Mandela died in hospital at the age of 81 after prolonged illness.
17th Apr, 2018: US president George H.W. Bush’s wife Barbara Bush passed away at the age of 92.

25th Apr, 2018: Madeeha Gauhar was a Pakistani actress, playwright and director of social theater, and women s rights activist. She founded Ajoka Theatre where social themes are staged in theaters, on the street and in public spaces. She died at the age of 62 subsequent to cancer.

25th Apr, 2018: Renowned actress Kulsoom Sultan has passed away at the age of 68 due to complications during a routine angioplasty.
May
14th Apr, 2018: Thomas Clayton Wolfe was an American novelist of the early twentieth century. He died at the age of 88 in hospital where he was being treated for an infection. Wolfe wrote four lengthy novels as well as many short stories, dramatic works, and novellas.
22nd Apr, 2018: Philip Milton Roth, an American novelist and short-story writer who won 1998 Pulitzer Prize, died of heart failure at the age of 85.
June
8th June, 2018: Anthony Bourdain, an American celebrity chef, author, travel documentary maker, and television personality, who was considered one of the most influential chefs in the world, committed suicide at the age of 61.
20th June, 2018: Mushtaq Ahmad Yousufi was a Pakistani journalist, banker as well as satire and humor writer who used to write in Urdu. Yousufi also served as the head of several national and international governmental and financial institutions. He died at the age of 94.

21st June, 2018: Jamsheed Marker, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, was a Pakistani diplomat with a 42-year diplomatic career. He was notable for his tenure as Ambassador to the United States, during the administrations of Prime Ministers Muhammad Khan Junejo and Benazir Bhutto. He died at the age of 96.
July
21st July, 2018: Annie Ali Khan who was alternatively known as Quratulain Ali Khan was a former Pakistani female model, writer and journalist. Reportedly, she committed suicide at the age of 38 in Karachi by suffocating herself to death.

August
16th Aug, 2018: Aretha Franklin, an American singer, songwriter, civil rights activist, actress, and pianist, died of cancer at the age of 76.
18th Aug, 2018: Kofi Annan, a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006. He died after a short illness at the age 80.

25th Aug, 2018: US Republican senator John McCain, who is well known as hero of Vietnam War died at the age of 81 subsequent to a year-long battle with brain cancer.
September
1st Sep, 2018: Fashion model Anam Tanoli was found dead at her residence as she committed suicide. According to the reports, the 26 years old Anam Tanoli was depression patient.

11th Sep, 2018: Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of Former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, was a Pakistani politician who had been the first lady of Pakistan for three non-consecutive terms. She was the President of Pakistan Muslim League from 1999 to 2002. She died at the age of 68 subsequent to cancer.

October
6th Oct, 2018: Pakistani chef Tahir Chaudhary was internationally known for his wonderful cooking skills. He started his career from a hotel in Dubai as chef. He served as host of several cooking programs on different channels. He died subsequent to heart attack.

15th Oct, 2018: Paul Allen was an American business magnate, investor, software engineer, humanitarian, and philanthropist. Alongside Bill Gates, Allen co-founded Microsoft in 1975, which helped spark the microcomputer revolution and later became the world s largest PC software company. He died at the age of 65.
22nd Oct, 2018: Gilberto Benetton, one of the founders of the eponymous Italian clothes brand, died aged 77 after an illness.

12th Nov, 2018: Stan Lee, an American comic book writer, editor, and publisher, who was active from the 1940s to the 2010s, co-creator of global action hero favorites including Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, X-Men and Black Panther, passed away at the age of 95.

21st Nov, 2018: Fehmida Riaz was known as one the legendary poets. She was the writer of more than 15 books. She passed away at the age of 72.

29th Nov, 2018: Altaf Fatima was a Pakistani Urdu novelist, short story writer, and teacher. Born in Lucknow, she moved to Lahore during the Partition, earning MA and BEd from the University of Punjab. Her novel Dastak Na Do is regarded as one of the defining works in the Urdu language.
30th Nov, 2018: Former US president George H.W. Bush, father of George W. Bush, died at the age of 94.

December
18th Dec, 2018: All time famous Pakistani actor Ali Ejaz was one the pioneers of drama and film industry. His comic plays greatly entertained people among which “Khawaja and Sons” is quite famous. He passed away in Lahore at the age of 77.

25th Dec, 2018: Syed Ali Raza Abidi was a Pakistani politician who was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018. He died subsequent to gunshot outside his residence at the age of 46.
