Ranbir Kapoor went into depression while portraying his character in Imtiaz Alis Rockstar.

Young Kapoor seems to have taken his character too seriously as he confessed in an interview, Yes, Imtiazs film took a lot out of me and shook me up.The Kapoor kid suffered severe depression as he was hell bent on getting into the skin of the character. And it took some time for him to get back to normal.A close friend of Ranbir said, The emotional scenes that he shot for, took its toll. He went into a shell and didnt meet anyone during this time. It took a lot of coaxing from friends and family to finally draw him out.
