(Dunya News) – Renowned Film, TV and stage actor Akhtar Hussain, most famously known as Al Bela passed away on this day 14 years ago, in 2004. Pakistan’s film and comedy industry can never forget the work of the legendary duo of Al Bela and Amanullah.

Born in the city of Gojra, Punjab, Akhtar Hussain became famous for his stage performances and within no time came to be known famously as the Al Bela. The actor and comedian became famous at a young age and acted in his first film “Farishta”, which was released in 1963.

Al Bela started his theatrical career on stage in the year 1970. His play “Yay Beychaaray Log” became famous amongst the people after it was performed frequently at the Bagh-e-Jinnah Open Air Theatre.

Al Bela used witty dialogues and hilarious physical gestures to entertain audiences. Amongst his famous films are “Ishq Nachaao Gali Gali”, “Baao Ji” and “Sawera”.

Al Bela breathed his last on 17th July 2004 after suffering a heart attack.
